Can you? What I meant by that is, can you understand the beat of the sound or music? Can you distinguish the real meaning of the song? Or do you just listen because I do. Lol, no joke, who listens to music and tries to find out what the real meaning is?

I can read sheet music due to my piano lessons as a child. However, I never could understand how a person can hear a note and immediately know what the note is. I do know 3/4 time, 4/4 time, and 2/4 time, etc.
Funny you should bring this up - a family member who is a retired music teacher visited over the weekend. She was explaining the difference between major and minor chords, then proceeded to tell my nephew that the chords in rock music were just thrown together without making any sense and with no rhyme or reason, and that classical music was the only form of music that "made sense". I almost said, "That is so not true!", but didn't.

Nope I really can't I'm horrible with things like that. For the same reason I really can't sing or dance for that matter.
