Rude people on mylot.....

Are you finding that there are some very rude people on mylot? For the most part I really like the people I have run into on this forum. But as is true with most of life there is always someone around who is full of themselves and tries to ruin things by taking themselves and the discussions on mylot far too seriously. Mylot is a great place to post what you feel. It should not be necessary to follow the herd just to keep everyone happy. Have you run into any rude people on mylot?

I agree, there are some very rude people on mylot. I know I've encountered my fair share of them, but I try not to let them ruin my day. I like to think they're probably just cowards who feel they have to be mean to others in other to get a point across, or are just not intelligent enough to express themselves without being rude. Overall, though, I think I've met enough nice people on mylot to make up for the rude ones. I've made some really good friends here, and more than ones I've come on here and been uplifted by their kindness. I try to focus on the way they make me feel rather than those other people. =)

Yes, you make a lot of sense. There are more good people than bad out there, so why dwell on the negative. thank you for your Best comment.

I haven't experienced anyone being rude to any of my discussions or responses, but I've seen it on others discussions and responses. Unfortunately, there are a few people here on Mylot who seem to think that they're better than others and that as such, their opinions and advice should be taken as fact - never mind that everyone else has their own opinion. Those rude people will get whats coming to them eventually though. Many people here do not like them and their ways and they will keep being reported until eventually, Mylot will do something about them.

I haven't run into anyone being rude directly to one of my comments but I have seen it on other peoples discussions. I feel like this is the place to give your opinions and use those opinions to answer peoples questions. If you don't agree with someones opinion all you have to do is say, I don't agree and why. You don't have to get all upset and let your emotions come flying out for all to see.

So far, I haven't. But I don't know if some members take my responses as being rude on my part. Sometimes I feel I was just too serious with my answers. Perhaps, there were times that I offend the person who posted a discussion with my replies. But I don't mean to be rude, really. I just speak what's on my mind. I hope I haven't offended anybody with my straightforward responses.

Sharing the opinion is one thng, discussion is another but totally arguing the post always strikes rude....Yes,I have come across only one such rude person but hope not to meet another such person on mylot....as it changes the mood and the loss is totally ours...The point is not that u r going against the herd but the way to present ur thoughts...one should take into account other people's views also open-mindedly..

Well, I was one of the first to respond saying that I have never encountered this personally. Guess what, maybe it was because I didn't knock on wood. Today, I simply expressed on opposite scenario for a topic in all of 4 or 5 sentances. Suddenly, the women knew my whole mentality and attacked my response. That's okay though, I simply (and nicely) responded to her and let her know that I didn't appreciate her quickness to be rude simply because I didn't view things exactly as she did.

Sorry to hear you've come across rude people here. It is the same in real life as on the internet, there are always going to be the few odd people who try to spoil things for others by either being too heavy handed with their comments or with their attitude. I've seen some long term members here making some awful comments in some discussions which were at best were them being somewhat rude and at worst were them being extremely offensive and/or racist. I've steered clear of those discussions (as in not responded) and am definitely going to steer clear of those members. My life doesn't revolve around this site to take myself so seriously. It's supposed to be a place to have healthy debates not cause offence and/or hurt to others. People should just remember that people do have real feelings and words spoken here can cause people to be very emotionally hurt. Take it with a pinch of salt hun; steer clear of those people that you find offensive to you :)

unfortunately there are rude people everywhere, especially on the internet. you learn by socializing online that many people in the world are insecure and hide behind their computer attacking strangers in order to feel better about themselves. its pretty ridiculous.

I think MyLot is a great community where the topics can get pretty heated. I love a good debate and there is a huge difference between expressing a difference of opinion civily and just arguing and being rude for the sake of being rude. I have experienced people calling me names because of my opinion on MyLot and it is definitely not necessary. I have also learned, however, that there are just rude people in this world and you just got to move on. If people are openly rude with their comments on here I just rate them badly. Most people on MyLot are polite and friendly and I'd rather focus my discussions, comments, and time on them rather then pointlessly arguing with rude people.

I haven't met anyone like that yet, but I'm sure I will. There are really nasty people on the internet who cyber-bully others for no reason. They're everywhere but they look really dumb :p

Yes, I agree with everything you said. I'd rather not give the details because I wouldn't want to be thought of as a snitch but I understand exactly how you feel. I guess we have to accept certain things in life wherever we are and take the positive and learn from the negative. Good luck to you and take care.

I had what I thought was a rude response, but then I realized English wasn't the respondent's native tongue, so I put itt down to that. I could have been wrong, but I like to give them the benefit of the doubt.
