For those of you who abide by daylight savings time, I'm sure you've heard all the hype about Sunday (3/11/07). I don't know all the specifics, but someone has decided to move daylight savings time up 3 weeks. Apparently, people have decided that this will be a new Y2K kinda deal with our computers. That is sooo funny!!! The only problems with the computers is that it may not "Spring forward" an hour by itself. You will probably have to change the clock on your computer manually when you get up Sunday (and probably every time you reboot until daylight savings time was scheduled to take place) - unless they get the almighty patch ready for it... Whoopie. Y2K was about computers crashing because the date 12/31/99 was preprogrammed into many systems as a "dummy" date, and most systems only recognized a 2-digit year but not in the single digits. THAT was going to be major problems. Changing a date on my computer is no biggie in my eyes. Now, have they realized what this will do to OTHER time-keeping systems? My VCR/DVR changes time automatically, but it wont now, I'll have to adjust it and then readjust it back when it thinks it's supposed to change. Many of our every day appliances change automatically, but I don't know of any of them that will have a "patch" put out to correct that. I guess I'll have a "crisis" on my hands!!!

Nothing sends panic through the mind of a blonde quicker than having to deal with change. I never thought about those factors RD. But, it is easily remedied. I will just put the problem on my husband's shoulders. He can fix it! : ) Thank you for alerting us to this. I would never have thought of it on my own.

Oh, it's SOOO the opposite in my house - I get all the "techie" stuff done. My husband is really spazzin' about this whole thing. I think as soon as he heard someone say "Another Y2K" he thought the computers would blow up! Sunday is my only day off and I'll be spending it fixing VCR's and DVD players. Since it's always been automatic in the past, I'll have to either find the instructions on the things (yeah, that'll happen!) or play with them until I find the right buttons. Oh, I wonder if my son knows about all this???
