I cut out a Bran Muffin recipe from a newspaper several years ago. Silly me, I just taped the recipe onto the bran box and would just change out the bag each time I needed a new box of bran. Well, my brother-in-law visited and never noticed the recipe on the box and viola! My recipe got thrown out with the trash. It was the best bran muffin I ever tasted. I remember it had bran, bran flakes, honey, buttermilk and I think yogurt as well. The other items I can't remember, nor can I remember the quantity. Have you seen this recipe? and would you share here with us?

Could it be this one? Easy Brown Sugar Bran Muffins Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1 cup milk 1 cup bran flakes 1 large egg 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 3 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt This Bran Muffin recipe is quite simple and simply amazing. In a bowl, mix together bran flakes and milk. Mix in oil and egg. Then stir in flour, baking powder, brown sugar, and salt. Mix until moistened. Pour batter into a greased muffin pan, filling 2/3 full. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes. Makes 12 bran muffins.

no, Bunny2 but thanks for sharing. I do remember that particular recipe called for both the bran flakes and the regular bran that looks like tiny pieces of twig? I had to soak that one then add it to the flakes. I will be trying your recipe though so thanks again:

Would it be possible to look up the newspaper on the internet(providing you can remember it) and look at some of the old copies(or even better may be at your local library).Plus of course you could look up recipes on the internet since you recall almost the whole recipe and it might help jog your memory.Losing great recipes is definately no fun.

It's the first time it has happened to me. I would never have guessed that a recipe would drive me so nuts! Thanks for your comments.

I have not seen the recipe, but I know that there are a lot of them posted on-line. If you can remember the name of this particualr recipe then maybe you can put it in the search engine and see what you come up with. Another idea make be to contact the paper that you got it from, maybe they can help. Everyone knows how important a good recipe is. I hope that you are able to find what you are looking for.

Thanks for your suggestion and would you believe it? I've tried them already. Just no luck. I even sent a letter to the current Food Editor of the paper, she had no idea. The name just said Bran Muffin, so I'm sure that's no help. Thanks again!
