I used to read at night too. But I had to wear specs later. What about you?

Reading is my passion. I used to read even in the night. But I soon had to wear spectacles, because of minus number. Is there any relation between reading in the night and eyesight?

I starting wearing glasses when I was weeny (because I read a lot too) and it's not half bad. :P If you read in inadequate light, it is naturally for your eyes to strain more. This would tax them unduly and affect your eyesight negatively.

When I was in college, my parents used to tell me not to read storybooks i the night. So secretively, I used to read in torchlight or the reflection of the street light. Maybe that was the reason.

I am a University graduate, and used to read for more than 10 hours during exams time. But I never went to an optician as my views are very clear. Hence I can boldly say that reading at nights will not harm the eyesight.

I think our eyesight just deteriorates as we get older. I have been reading quite a lot since I was very young but I only started wearing specs when I reached 40. I read a lot at night but I have a good reading lamp over my bed. My eyesight hasn't deteriorated much since I got my first pair of specs.

I got specs after using a computer too much. I believe that its not reading that makes your eyesight worse, but just close work in general.
