Ever since I grew up, I've come across many people who really lie about their age. I believe that, ladies normally lower their age while men add. do you do the same and why???

Your observation is just like what I've observed. Boys usually lie about their age by making themselves older, usually for the purpose of gaining acceptance, or getting themselves allowed in places that would require them to be 18 or above (like cinemas or drinking bars). Well, not girls, but women mainly lie about their age because they're somehow embarrassed about it. Well, I'm a woman but I only lied about my age once, and that is when I had to be younger in order to get freebies! Hehe. Well, it's easier for me to lie about my age because I look 10 years younger than my real age, which is advantageous sometimes (but not all the time). A funny encounter to prove your observation is when there's this guy who liked me. He's 10 years younger than me. When he learned that I was 10 years older than he is, he started lying about his age (increasing it). I know his real age because somebody already told me. I didn't tell him about it anymore because I didn't want him to get embarrassed. Maybe in the future, when the wrinkles already come out and my real age starts to show, I might also lie about my age, too. Who knows?

Nope. I am proud of every year I have lived. Most people think I am younger and are surprised when I share my age. I don't go around announcing it but if it comes up in conversation, I do not avoid it. Again, I am proud to have lived each of my years. Don't understand why age is such an issue.

I set up a business in Zambia when I was 21 and I thought that people wouldn't give me work if I was so young so I became 26. The trouble was in a small community, if I was 26 at work I had to be 26 at play which meant telling lies which I hate and am not good at. The business did well until Kaunda nationalised all businesses by taking 51% of all shares and theoretically paying for it by paying back 25% of his profits by not taking those extra profits!! A cunning move in true Marxist doctrine which drove out all investment and collapsed the economy. Typical African politics!
