Today is the International women's day. Here In India they are making all mockery of the day by rhetoric speeches, processions, banners and seminars. The average Indian rural woman is still in abject poverty. I do not know when these senisitizars reach them and share a meal for the day? Do you feel the same way in your own country??

Here in the UK women 'burnt their bra's' way back in the 1960's .. and thus the feminist movement was born .. gender equality is probably better here than in the majority of countries but we are still behind may others .. While men continue to make a mockery of the work that women do then there will never be gender equality in that country .. because many of the people who will make the rules to allow gender equality are men !! It is without a doubt that once women start to realise equality for work that jobs and working environments get better for all .. for both men and women .. so it really is in mens best own interests to support gender equality ...

Nice to know the progress. May be The queen is still inspiring all.Though we had much progress in the areas of education, living and health standards, things are still in its primitive stage in the rural india. I am proud that we had a women prime minister who was the best in history and many CEO s and chief ministers here, though am pained for the rural folks.
