I am a bit confused right now. During the hostage crisis, Sonny said his name is Michael Corinthos Jr. His dad is Mike Corbin. His brother is Rick Lansing. His sister was Courtney Matthews. One of his step-fathers was named Deke. Where did Corinthos come from? Did Mike change his name when he left his family so they couldn't find him?

Yes his father changed his name. It was originally Michael Cornithos Sr. I don't think they ever said why in particular he changed it but it could have been due to a variety of reasons considering his past. I checked to make sure on this at: http://www.soapcentral.com/gh/whoswho/mike.php Hope that helps.

I should have thought to look there! I am such a silly girl. He probably changed his name when he ran away so that the people he owed couldn't find him.

Yeah..The above poster is right. I think Mike changed it during his gambling past problems.. Rick Lansing has a different daddy that's why he has another name. Courtney used her mom's name.
