Dissatisfaction

Why do women with straight hair want curly hair and vice versa? I have long wavy hair and it is thick!. I would so love to have fine sleek hair. My hair frizzes in wet and humid weather and becomes incredibly big. I guess I can probably do more with it but I'm so sick of big hair. So many people are having surgery to change the way they look. Do they not accept the way they are? I can understand fixing a broken nose or jaw or correcting an overbite and such things but changing your looks? Can that change your personality? Won't you still be the same person?

I beleieve the reason for this is because we are never happy with who we are or what we look like . We always see something in someone else that we wish we had . Kind of like the saying that the grass is greener on the other side , it isn't really but this is what we always seem to think . Many of us lack the self esteem to be happy with ourselves the way we are and this is the reason for trying to change what we look like , we are still the same person but by improving your self esteem you will feel better about yourself and boost the convidence you may need in life to do something .

Your right about people needing to accept the way they are. It seems we always want what someone else has. However, I feel that if people have the money, they can make the decision to have surgery if they want it. I think in some cases people's personality would change for the better if they like the way they look better afterwards. But that can't be determined unless the pre op Doctor finds out by talking to the person if he/she is a good candidate and has a good attitude about the surgery. I don't think there's anything wrong with making ourselves look the best we can without surgery like changing our hairsyle or getting a make-over. We do feel better about ourselves and have more confidence when we don't look slovenly, this is what I need to do myself.

I believe wanting something that you don't have is human nature. No matter what race or culture. Isn't ironic how one race wants to whiten their skin while another race basks under the sun at the risk of having skin cancer only to have a golden tan.

Absolutely right, till they find out they were better off without the change.

I also have wavy hair.. I'm not into making it straight or curl.. I want to make it straight of course.. I want my hair to look beautiful but what can I do.. Rebonding or relaxing would do damage to my hair.. So whenever I want my ahir to be straight during balls or other formal party's I straighten or curl my ahir with the flat or curling iron.. It still damages the hair but I do it like 6 times a year.. so that would be just fine.. Changing my looks.. na-ah! that's mean.. God created us in his own image and likeness then we have it changed through surgery.? taht's crazy.. It only happens when you're really vain or desperate. Anyway, how you look is not really that important but your inner self.! =)

Well I am a women with curly hair. Sometimes I'm very satisfied but most off the time I hate my hear. When it's rainy wether it's awfull. It always curles high up my head. When you have straight hair you have the option to get curls and when you get fed up with them you can get ride off them. With curls you don't have that option.

I guess some people are never happy with what they have. I must say, I'd love to have curly hair instead. But I don't care what kind of hair, as long as it would go into at least one style that I liked. I don't even want a surgery to correct a jaw problem I have, I don't understand how people go through a surgery just for looks.

Hi, Oh us woman with our hair are hardly every happy with it if we have straight hair we want it curly and if we have short hair we want it long. As for myself I have my hair just down to my shoulders and it is wavy and thick. Sometimes I am not happy with it but others say how lucky I am. A lot of people do have sugery as they are not happy with how they look but I would never do this as God made me as I am, yes I can understand this if something is really wrong, and of course you will still be the same person.

To each his/her own! But I guess this feeling to alter your personality by a face-lift is the product of the consumer world. Why do we all look up to a perfect look, which in turn is generated by adverisements or movies? The funny thing is that each one would have a different view on the perfect look.

Maybe being ladies are generally capricious creatures? Oh don't stone me, ladies.. ok.. ok.. guys can be fickle minded too. :P But really, I think ladies generally follow the fashion. What kind of hair they want.. why, that depends on the season! ;-)

dear friend, man is always in search of those things which he doesnt have.when he is black he wants to be white, when fat he wants to be slim one ,when short he wants to be tall one.when he is poor he wants to be rich & when he gets sufficient money he is still hungry for more money.same thing is real for beauty.very few are really content with what they have and try to develop themselves as better human beings they are goal oriented & less bothered about their looks!

yeah.. i agree with you. most people are not satisfied with what they have. maybe because humans don't really have satisfaction. we kept wanting the things that we see in others and the things that we lack. and another reason may be because we are used to having that curly hair/straight hair and we want to experience something else. we are a bunch of adventurous people and i guess it adds spice to our life to know that each of us has its own flaws and differences.

First of all let me start off by saying that humans will never be satisfied with what they have cause they are the worst species in this world. Even men tend to behave that way not only woman. I feel looks can change a lot of things in a humans personality it can make you over confident of yourself as well as toughts of making you famous. It's better to be happy the way you are and try and not change enything in ourselves so that in the end we shouldn't land up like michael jackson's broken nose. Hehehe. Think what if god would have not given us legs or any part in our body then we would have known the importance of our body parts rather than our looks. I myself know so many people who tend to behave in a different way as if he or she is the worlds most beautiful species. They got looks nothing else which is not gonna stay with them till the end but our body parts are.

I guess that is really how humans are. We are never contented with what we have, when we have less in life we dream of having more, if we have a lot we either dream of having less because of all the problems or want to have even more! Oh yes man tends to be greedy at times. We never seem contented enough with how we look too, thin people wish they were fatter, fat people will do everything to be thin, I have straight hair and 2 years ago I got it curled, I have it curly for a year then got tired of it and had it straightened again. It has been about 6 months now and I miss having it curly, still thinking whether or not to get it curled again... hehe

There is only one answer to this - CHANGE. Everybody needs change and nobody in his/her present state is 100% satisfied, whether its about look or something else. And to all, the other side always looks green. I believe that this is the sole reason and I couldn't find out any other answer. If you know, please let us know.
