If you were an animal, what would that be? and why?

If you were born as an animal, what do you think you were or have become? Or let's say, what animal would you like to be if it case you were an animal?
I got a thought of this today because my officemate let me see the picture of his dog. It's so cute. And I just wondered, what if i'm an animal. I think I would love to become a dog because they are man's bestfriend and there are millions of men who loves to take care of a dog than any other animals.:)

i would like to be a lion - male preferably! they have a pretty lazy life - sitting around in the sun all day. The women go out and hunt and i would come along and help myself. the only thing I would need to do is square up with other male lions to protect my family occassionally - but hey, i would be a lion so I'd be pretty hard and not really bothered about the odd scrap...

Ok, I see your point. But i think my question is definitely clear on the animals per se. I know humans belong to the group pf animals, in fact the highest form of animals. But basically, this is in reference to the animals, not the human race. Thanks for responding though :)
