The Black Hole - Does Your Home Have One?

Alright everyone, I've come up with a theory that I wanted to check out on all of you, to see what you thought. Lately, I can't seem to find anything around my house. I just had it in my hands, and now I can't find it. I'm sure that I'm not the only one that this happens to. Here's my theory on it:
Every house has a junk drawer, so I'm guessing that we all have a black hole - a place where everything disappears to. Such as your car keys, the remote control, that missing sock to the pair you put in the laundry. So, do you see what I'm getting at?
Tell me what you think of this theory. I just thought it would be interesting to hear other people's views on this.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I await your response!

Well I do say, I have always wondered where my things have ended up to, now I can blame on a mysterious black hole I have living in my house somewhere. It seems things are always coming up missing in my house and I don't know how many socks I am holding onto in hopes of finding it's partner...lol The thing that really gets me though is I'll just lay something down for a second, than I'll go back and get it, and poof it's gone when I know I had just laid it down in that exact spot. Boy I surely wish the black hole would give back my stuff, would surely save me some money..lol

THanks for the post. Us thrifty people have learned a way to make that not happen as much though. I mean, how many different colored socks do you wear? I just wear black and white and try to get numerous socks in the same color/style (economy pack or whatever). This way if you lose one, you've got 9 more just like it. So you don't have to hold on to it and wait for it's mate, or waste money throwing the sock out. Plus you know that once you throw that one away, the other one will appear! Make sure you don't buy the socks with the heels. Get the other kind because they last longer

Oh, our house has a massive one and it seems to have a special craving for keys, important documents, cell phones, and single socks...funnily enough it seems fairly well able to repel the massive mountains of laundry that always seems to pile up at our place.

that happens to us alot here in the house. one time when our hammer disappear while working on something all of us get pissed cause we cant do anything without it so all of us roam around the whole to find it but we cant find it. then we decided to let it show itself...then wallla... jsut after 20 minutes of giving up we saw it lying around on the ground. some us got freak out but hey it happens all the time.

I seldom have this problem. I am ususally very good at keeping things in the same places. I know people who can't find the object they need, even if it is in their own hand. And the funny thing is, they blame everyone else for losing their things. They are the only ones who ever touch them to begin with. Yet it is always someone else's fault they can't find them. But I see your point about missing items falling into the black hole. No wonder I can't find the kids..lol.

I have a galaxy of black holes! I have a black hole in each room, plus there is this invisible wind, that also can't be felt, that seemingly sweeps things into the black holes without our seeing! Items are just sucked in like that little thingy at the bank's drive through!

Yes i do belive every house has a black hole. LOL or at least it seems that way. I have on plenty of occassions
put something somewhere and then not know where it is. Example, i need to send in my old digital camera to see if it can be fixed, but i only want it fixed to be able to copy slides and negatives. When it broke i put the lens away somewhere that makes it copy slides and negatives and i still cant find this lens. So i am still waiting to send the camera.

That is true for my house as well, but for different things i have different black holes, All my books or stationary are found in one, another one for my kitchen items, another one for my clothes and bedsheets. So have many blackholes in my house.

I like your theeory. I always thought the socks fairies came and stole all the socks but your idea makes more sense. More than socks come up missing. Maybe both is true. Maybe the sock fairies travel in and out of the black hole along with the remote and car keys fairies. I have a lot of pens come up missing too. Wow, it must be a pretty big black hole.lol. Now if only the dirty dishes would disappear.
