At least he's not scared anymore....

When we first brought home the new baby, my then almost 19 month old son was terrified of his baby brother. It was a whole week before he'd even go near the baby and even then he'd run off if the baby happened to touch him. It's been almost 4 months and he's been showing signs of caring about the baby. Of course he doesn't say the first letter in most words yet so he calls the baby "icky" instead of his real name but he calls me "om" so it's ok. Today he decided it was time to start playing with his baby brother. At first I was thrilled until he tried playing "Pat-a-cake". I guess it was too hard for him to reach the right way while sitting BESIDE the baby so he did the only thing that seemed logical to him...he sat ON the baby. Yep, that's right, my 29 pound almost two year old sat on my under 15 pound 4 month old's chest! Luckily it was only for as long as it took for me to get to him and pick him up. The funny thing is the baby didn't cry about it, he was laying there smiling the whole time. Maybe he already knows he's going to need to be tough with 4 big brothers!

When my son was born he had two sisters. We had another problem: They though he was a doll and they wanted to play with him all the time. We kept a good eye on them and all was well. But as he grew older they rough housed with them and sometimes he would run to me or his mom crying. Well one day I had to send all three of the kids to the coner. His mom and I were laughing so hard while me were doing it... because he had bloody the noses of his 4 and 6 year old sisters. They never bullied him again.

Well I guess he showed them lol! Out of the six kids, I've only had 1 bloody nose and that really was an accident. My oldest son asked my youngest daughter (she's 2 years younger than him) to help him get his boot off because it was stuck. She pulled, it came off and hit her in the face. The funniest little sibling getting even story I have was my #3 son putting #2 son in a headlock and laughing when #2 son ran off crying.
