Too true! a lot of ppl buy them thinking they are gonna have a pretty pet in a cage to show how exotic their tastes are, then get rid of the poor thing when they discover there is a LOT more to parrots and caring for them than originally thought. horribly sad..far too many birds get passed from home to home, with their behavior just getting worse and worse. i was lucky enough to adopt just such a conure. damn ppl that owned her kept her locked in the garage cause she was loud and with the door closed and lights off most of the time. she didnt even have proper sized perches!! which made her feet weak and at first couldnt even hold on to a piece of food. i am so happy to say that now she is my precious, spoiled, sweetest, cuddly, well behaived and HEALTHY conure! it took a number of years, but it was totally worth it!
