I Disagree - " The Departed ", Best Motion Picture 2007 Academy Award

I hav seen THE DEPARTED starring LEONARDO DI CAPRIO,MATT DAMON. but i dont think this movie was good enough to get this pretigious award.
The other nominees like BABEL, LETTERS FROM LWO JIMA, LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE & THE QUEEN, i think BABEL was the best movie. i think this mive should hav been given BEST MOTION PICTURE award for 2006.
can u tell me why THE DEPARTED got best movie oscar this yr.

Two reasons. First it was Martin Scorsese's year.The Departed had elements of films he did in the past. The movies that didn't get the Oscar. and second, the Academy just gave Crash best picture a year or so ago. Babel seemed to have the same theme as Crash.I thought The Departed was going to win the Oscar before I saw it. Now that I swa it , I think it deserved the Oscar.It is a crime drama epic. Tha Academy loves epics.
