Are you like most people and Christmas is your favorite time of year? I know Thanksgiving is a very important holiday in the U.S. For many others Easter is the biggest holiday for religious reasons. What is the favorite holiday for you in your part of the world?

Public holiday like christmas or easter may be the same to me because sometiems i still have to work, even i get paid more than usual in these days. The holida I like most will be Christmas holiday because the atmospere during christmas is so good.Everyone is busy in the christmas shopping which may make me busy, but when i see them get what they want, i feel happy about them. And shortly after the christmas holiday, i will have new year celebration which i can see one of the best fireworks in the world in sydney.

For me, any holiday is a holiday. If you are working, a holiday is doubly nice. I especially love the Chinese New Year on my side though since it conveys that extra special festive mood. A little more so than Christmas here in Singapore. ;-)

Christmas and new years are the biggest holidays in french quebec. They have what is called le reveillon which is a great big feast at midnight on either christmas, actually right after midnight mass, and then on new years again. Their are alot of night club specials, family parties and and work parties during this time of year. For me personally, I don't really celebrate anymore. What I like the best is my birthday, or going out for dinner with somebody else for their birthday. I just had my birthday on March 6th and was disappointed because this year I spent it alone.

Thanksgiving...non materialistic, hanging out with people you love, lots of food....the lead-in to Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, etc...
