No, I don't believe any of the predictions of the end of the world. I believe that it's far more likely that they only went so far when creating their calendar as it could be added to at a later date. What would have been the point of going hundreds of years into the future when creating it?
I believe that many thing will happen before we face something as disastrous as the end of the world. Catastrophes of monumental proportions would be likely for some time beforehand. That, or some massive asteroid pummeling through space will kill us all with little to no warning. (hopefully if that happens, they won't spread the word and create mass hysteria). I'd rather just die without knowing that it's coming.

Interesting I had never heard this before. But I remember when I was younger of days being predicted as this is the day the world is going to end. Myself and my friends would gather together, get some chips and pop and wait for it to happen. I am still here. I don't think it will happen. If it is I would rather not know and just let something happen while I am sleeping.

There have been so many predictions about the end of the world. People have sold thier possesions and waited on mountain tops for the "end". I guess if you keep predicting, eventually someone will get it right.
An interesting topic to post though. Now I want to research this to satisfy my own curiosity.
