Ok. Since I have started drinking Dr. Pepper I have gained 100 lbs. That's in a 8 year period! Of course I have stopped drinking it and have lost 40 lbs. already! I don't know why this particular drink is so addictive but man it's sosoo good! But alas it does the body no good! It counteracts my heart medication so I can't even have a sip. which roayaly sucks since I love it so much. Why is this drink so addictive is it the caffeine or the soda itself???

Good question. And I have yet to figure it out.
I had to change my eating habits last October because of being borderline diabetic.
And even though I was refusing to give up my soda...I changed everything else. But then I realized how much soda really was effecting my sugar.
So...to Diet Coke I went. But yuck! It was horrible!
Fine...trying Diet Coke with Lime. More tolerable...but after a couple weeks...I didn't want another one!
Well, I figured it was the caffeine I wanted...so I switched to Coke Zero.
Wow! That was better than Diet Coke with Lime! But again...after a couple of weeks, I got tired of that.
Hey wait! They have Sprite Zero...but it doesn't have caffeine in it.
Is it the taste or the caffeine.
Well, I am hooked on Sprite Zero for over a month now. But I also found that I like coffee made with Splenda Flavors Blends too.
So, I get the soda I think tastes great. And a coffee with no sugar for the caffeine.
I am a happy camper now. :)

I believe it is the caffeine, carbonation, and sugar combined. I've heard from a lot of people that soda makes them put on pounds. My husband has to be very careful not to drink too much because he bloats right up when he drinks it. I on the other hand have a problem with keeping weight on me so I try to drink it as much as possible. Mountain Dew is the worse from what I hear and can really ruin your health.

That's funny, I'm drinking Dr. Pepper right now. My whole family drinks nothing but Dr. Pepper. I know it is horrible for you, but I'm pretty sure that the only addictive part is the caffeine, I don't think you can be addicted to the soda itself.
