American Idol Gives Back

United States
March 9, 2007 1:29pm CST
American Idol MC Ryan Seacrest stated Thursday night that on April 24 and 25 the votes will be matched by sponsors and donated to those in poverty situations in America and Africa. I think that this is a wonderful selfless act and will change many lives both here and in Africa. Just hearing about it has brought me hope in how celebrities and companies help in our country.

I think it is wonderful that they are going to do this. I will be sure to call that night, even though I have not found one I really want to vote for yet, Last year I voted for the whole 2 hours, but this year I have not been impressed so far.

I was very surprised to hear all that also! They said Idol is the most popular TV show in the world, so they have an audience for this awareness for sure!

I agree tht it is very nice to see the stars taking an interest. Too often, we get so wrapped up in the entertainment aspect that we forget to look at the other great things that celebrities do. Thanks for bringing this to our attention !!
