Hi, is anyone here a member of Mensa, the high IQ organisation who can advise please? Is it ever possible to train oneself to pass the qualifying IQ test to join Mensa? How can this be done? Please advise. Thanks.

It's possible to train for a MENSA test yes. By simply repeating the exercises of IQ tests over and over again, then you take a brain break for a couple of days and do some more tests. Repeat for a couple of weeks. Take the MENSA test a couple of days after the last tests, now that your mind is focused on tests and the types of questions they will ask. I'm not a member, but know some people who are.

Hi - the best resource for training for Mensa I know can be found here: http://www.mensai3.com It's a site dedicated to training for Mensa - with practice questions, iq tests, brain training software, and lots of background information. Good luck. Mark

Hi velvetprinzess, thank you so much for posting this discussion. I have thought about checking out the mensa organization and seeing what one has to do to qualify. Since you have posted this discussion you have made me more interested. I will surely be looking into it more now. Thanks again and good luck to you if you do take the test.

I have been a member of Mensa for a year- it is an IQ test- you can go over past test questions in books but it makes no guarantee as to what your test will be like. Your actual intelligence is measured at least the way Mensa sees it when you try to join. I don't really think you can study for it , like you would a school assignment. You brain has to work in a logical analytical matter to understand this test. My boyfriend is a member and "dared" me to take it- LOL. I looked over 1 book for a day and was shocked I passed- so good luck to all who take it! Make it count you only get one shot. :)
