The following words were written on the tomb of an Anglican Bishop in the Crypts of westminister Abbey:when i was young and free and my imagination had no limits,i dreamed of changing the world .as i grew older and wiser,i discovered the world would not change,so i shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.but it ,too, seened immovable.as i grew into my twilight years,in one last desperate attempt,i settled for changing only my family, those closest to me,but alas, they would have none of it.and now as i lie on my deathbed,i suddenly realize:if i had only changed myself first, then by example i would have changed my family.

Hello Vicky!! What this means to me is to have a look at my own defects of character. Making positive changes within myself would also have a positive effect on ones family. The mans family would change their thoughts and vision not by force but by their own free will once they know these positive changes in the man. Take care Vicky.

Hello
I have heard of the above also. I am trying to follow that example. One must look to one's ownself to make changes insdie. We also say we will do that and never get around to it?? Then it is too late!! I finally realized that is it not right to try and chanbe someone. Believe me; I know. My husband is an Alcholic and I was just an enabler for so many years. Of course I didn't know. I read this book "Co-dependant No More" forget the author. But is was amazing.
I am changing for the better.
