Is it better for Chris Daughtry that he did not win American Idol?

I really like Daughtry and think that the band is awesome. Is it better for his career that he did not win? I really have not heard alot about Taylor Hicks since he won and Daughtry seems to be doing really well. I was very upset that Chris did not win and I thought that he had the most talent of that season. I now think that maybe since he did not win he is not labeled as the "American Idol Winner" and that maybe is better for him. What do you think is it better? Do you think he should have won?
