Could somebody tell me a little more about mylot?

I've read the basic stuff of mylot, I'm very new here, and now I've noticed about these "stars ratings". What are these? What use do they have and is there anything else that I should know?

The way to earn more is to answer the discussions with thought out responses that relate to the discussion topic. They should be at least 3 sentences long. Short answers like yes, no, or I don't know, are NOT quality answers. Don't answer with a bunch of nonsense that doesn't have to do with the topic . You can write more than three sentences, it is just recommended that you don't write less than that . How much you earn is determined by myLot administration, they calculate the earnings based on their own algorythym.
