Do honest people are respected anymore

In this times when majority of men are hypocrites? I guess, truly honest people are looked at as though they come from Mars. The honest man's the freak and the master weaver of silken words (do I smell politics on here???) are looked upon and get the glory leaving the honest man to be demoralized.

I think there is still a respect for honest people. However, there seem to be more and more examples of people getting ahead in life by not being honest.

Sometimes, being honest can get the person in trouble. Huge trouble at times, if the person said something brutal and hurt other people's feelings. Honesty isn't always the best policy. You have to tell white lies to save your own butt. I know, it's wrong to tell lies. But telling the truth can hurt. Really hurt.

Being honest adds to one's credibility, which leads to people respecting you more. If one is honest in his actions, people think they can trust that person and they respect them more.
