Do you post a response or comment to all your discussion responses?

I am sure This has been on here before but, I just did a full text search and could not find anything. When I read the MyLot rules it said not to post a response or comment to every response that you received to a discussion that you had posted. However, I notice that a lot of people do. I have also noticed in MyLot discussions that a lot of people seem to expect a comment or response to their responses. I am a little confussed as a Newbie. Are we expected to respond or comment on responses just because some one responded or just comment when we can add to the discussion?

It's rightly said in the discussion guidelines that comments are required to be added only when found essential and not otherwise. It's also mentioned that comments like thanks for the response, very good, nice and so on are not expected from member users by mylot. But it's equally important when some advice or further explanation required fron the user who started the discussion then in that case one must add the commen necessarily. I follow these guidelines as far as possibleexcept at few points.

Thanks for the consideration and marking it as a best response. I am glad you took the mylot request seriously.

I think it is a matter of preference. I am not going to respond to 70 comments on my comments, it gets to be too much but I will at least rate the comment, I think that is important.

no i don't, only people who just want to talk to people do this. personally i don't because it doesn't give you any additional bonus to your earnings and in that time commenting extra you could have done a useful response somewhere else in the website.

I personally think what Mylot means is not to start a whole new thread or discussion topic just to thank people. I don't think giving a quick thanks or I appreciate your thoughts comment is frowned upon. I am fairly new here as well, but have seen many of the people who have been here a while leaving comments.
