How long do you keep that favorite pair of jeans? Or that favorite T-shirt?

I am going to have to come to terms with my favorite pair of jeans. They have huge holes in each of the front pockets. When I put something in the pocket, I find it falling to my feet. There are holes on the outside near the back pockets. The bottoms are frayed with strings hanging on for dear life. They are so comfortable and I haven't found a pair that I like enough to replace them. Soon, sigh, I fear that I am going to have to give them a proper burial. I also have a 5 year old Chicago Cub T-shirt that is full of holes. I only wear it around the house. It has my favorite team on it and it is, er, was very cute. I know I will soon have to depart with this also. Do you find it hard to give up clothes that someone else would see as a "rag"?

I have just sorted out some very used clothes and I was so sad. I loved them all the years. I felt so great wearing them. I think I wear clothes until they fall apart. at least when I like them. If I like that shirt or the pants I do not care whether they are still fashion. I just wear them.

Ohhh yes, I have a favorite pair that I have to wear long johns under or I'd be arrested for indecent exposure and they are paper thin.my oldest t-shirt is only about 10 years old. I have wool socks in my drawer that are older then my youngest and she is a junior in high school. I'm even worst about my footwear.I have birkenstocks that I bought before I left California in 1979 and the sad thing is I still wear them.I have a new pair I bought this year and I do wear them but I wouldn't throw my ole birkies out. Now if you promise you won't tell my family I will tell you that in the bottom of my t'shirt drawer ia a dashiki from my hippy 70's.Now I haven't worn that since well I don't know when I wore it last. I seldom buy new clothes because I ,like you feel comfy in my old stuff . raydene

I throw it away or donate it once i find i don't use it. What is the use of holding on to something you don't use. I rather move on and buy new clothes.

Ahhh, but I do wear my jeans , holes and all. But thanks to some good advice, I am currently looking for some cool patches to cover up the holes.

Oh yes, I have one item of clothing that I most absolutely love…..lol…I actually have a pair of cotton jogging shorts that I have kept since my first pregnancy! That is almost ten years now! I love it! It is defiantly my favorite! Although it has so many holes in it and fall off me most of the time if I forget to cling it onto my underwear…it is very comfortable and not irritating at all. I have jeans that I also love, but most of the time I wear my shorts because it is less fitting and very relaxing on my body. Of course, I only wear them at home, but sometimes I forget that I have them on and walk out to the laundry! Sometimes the neighbors would stare and giggle and I would just like to kick myself for not changing them before I walk out of the house. Nonetheless they have come accustomed to it, and usually smile and say “you’re in your favorite shorts again!”…lol.. Mo mom hates it! She has even went as far as buying me “basketball” shorts just so I can get rid of them but I still keep it!..... Although of people do consider it to be a “rag”, I continue to keep it and wear it! I think I will use it until it is completely torn to the point of no recognition…lol

My partner cringes everytime I put on my "ready for the garbage" favorite pair of blue jeans. I told her I was going to cut them in to shorts this summer and then maybe, maybe get rid of them after summer. They are just so comfy, I cannot get rid of them. PEACE

Put it on. See how it looks. If you still like it then it's a keeper!
