What do you think of those ear-piece phones?

You know the ones that people wear so they are discreet while on the phone. Have you ever had someone look at you and start talking, but when you answer them, or even say, "huh?" they give you a crazy look, cuz they are on the phone? I had a professor at school who would look right at you and ask a question. But he was on the phone, and when you answer, he'd just go on talking and looking at you. It was kinda freaky. Reminds me of that commercial where a guy thinks a girl is asking him out but she's on the phone. It's a funny one. Can't remember any more of it though.

I think those ear pieces have come in handy to some people but I also think they look a little silly. But I guess some don't care when it comes to conveniece. I mean it is good to have a hands free phone, especially for all of us who love to talk on the phone and drive. I have also experienced the problem of thinking someone was talking to me but they were on the phone. Anyhow, thanks for the post.

And they are getting so small these days that you don't even see that the person has a phone!

Its funny how in this day and age one can walk around and appear as if that person is talking to him or herself...and no one think anything is unsettling about it. Why? Because we have this bulb in our ear that connects us to someone else that we do not see in another location. Now, if someone would have told another person this back in the 1950's...that would would look at the one telling such facts like that person was crazy! Yet here we are walking around grocery shopping talking into the thin air asking our partner's again what it was that he or she wanted us to pick up from the store before coming home! LOL Well, I think if a person is going to use that ear bulb and talk to someone that can not be seen by others around them...that person should at least have enough respect not to stare at others and confuse them. ha ha Because if that person does it too much, one day another may not answer when that person is actually talking to another face to face. ha ha

Yeah, I had a General Manager visit my store once and he always had an earpiece phone on. He actually asked me a question, I smiled and walked away. I thought he was on the phone!! I was embarassed, he was a bit irritated... oh well.

I think that it can sometimes be uncomfortable in your ear, but it is a lot better than carrying the phone when you are busy. But, I also like using the speaker if you can hear them properly without the wind or something else. I have had something like that happen to me. But, it wasn't that someone was talking to me. They keep sticking there tongue out at me...but, then there eyeball just moved a slight bit and I noticed there weren't looking at me. And I had already stuck my tongue out at them right back! Oops! :D

I have done this, someone will come near you you and say Hi. You respond only to find they are looking at you stangely and they are talking on their head set phone. I know the commercial you mean, it is a good one.

I saw a commercial once where there were two people in the bathroom stalls and you hear them talking to each other. One is answering all of the other persons questions, until the first one says, I'll have to let you go. There is someone here who keeps answering my questions like I'm talking to him! LOL That would make the 2nd one feel a little dumb, wouldn't it. But he didn't know it...We have a couple of those at work and sometimes you'll respond to them and then realize they are on the phone. It doesn't bother me...just one of those modern things I guess.
