Displaying Signs of Affection to your loved one in Public--Can It Go Too Far?

Holding Hands - Holding hands is a way to show signs of affection

Yesterday I was in the mall doing a little shopping and I saw a couple on my way to the restroom REALLY going at it, kissing, grabbing faces, rubbing in areas that shouldn't be done in a public place such as a Outlet Mall. So bad they act like know one else existed to them. You could hear people saying that's just sick, or making them turn their kids heads... When I was coming out of the bathroom, a security guard was talking to them. Showing signs of affection, the most is holding hands, a kiss occassionally or a hug...Nothing crazy like this couple displayed... I beleive there is a time and place for everything...Even the consideration and respect for themselves, especially little children around... What are your thoughts? Ever been in a public place and a couple was going at it to the point it needed to be done in private? What are your views?

In Singapore, we call it PDA - Public Display of Affection. It is quite frowned on and we have people taking pictures of such displays and posting it to criticize on the internet. I think holding hands is ok. A chaste kiss even may be accepted. Anything too far and I will wonder if you are so poor that you can't afford a hotel room.

I agree....there is affection, and there is AFFECTION!No one needs to see what you would do behind closed doors but now a days, they don't care! They do what they want, where they want and to hell with everyone else.....me,I never would have waited for the security gurad,I would have thrown them $20 and told them to get a room, and if that wasn't enough, get a 'cheaper' room, they aren't acting any different....if you know what I mean!?

hahaha I love how you said that AFFECTION!!! hehehe...I see that alot people don't care about things like that. It kills me to even think how their attitudes are towards people in general..To not care how intimate they are with one another

They should be on stage at one of those 'cheap' bars who do nothing but 'peep' shows....IMO

That is going way too far in public. I had experienced something like that before that I posted but it was in a changing room in a clothing store here. An occasional hug, holding hands, or a quick kiss is okay in my opinion but when they are doing more than that and for an extended period of time that is when they are going too far and need to take it to their home or hotel or some other private place. Children do not need to see this. At one of my previous jobs, two people were going at it in one of the restrooms and they ended up getting fired.

Yes, sometimes things are done in the wrong stops and it kills me that they don't even care..Furthermore in a public area where their are young and older people alike..I just don't get it..

Oh yes i have seen that plenty of times,my first reaction be like they can get a ROOM for that!Holding hands is kool,a quick kiss but all that other.... they can save for the bedroom in their own privacy. That is out of control right there.

I know that's right, I mean it is not something I could see myself doing, but, the ones that do...I just don't get it. I was so happy to see that security guard talking to them. lol

I agree, this is going too far. Maybe to them it was a thrill, to get away with something like this in public. I think I have felt this way one time or another. But there is a place for everything. It should not be done infront of kids- they see enough from the media- it should not be from reality too.

Indeed awful. I should say, there are things left done in bed. I have a friend who is studying law and one time she had shared the same topic to me. According to her, couple who showed excessive public display of affection or if the act is highly scandalous can be held liable of grave scandal as of the Philippine law.Well, I guess that's very fine. Scandalous display of affection should be penalize.
