Places to visit in London

It would be one more month before i visit London. I am so excited about this. I have always wanted to visit this great city. But as much as i am excited i am a bit apprehensive. I have heard rumors about London being a racist city!!! And it is here that i am really disappointed about. I mean, in India if a foreigner visits it is amazing to see how warmly they are welcomed. But in racist countries, it's a different story altogether. Racist or not, London is London!!! And i care a damn about it!! I so much want to visit this place. If anyone has any suggestions about the places that need to be visited, could please respond. I request specially Londoners as they are local to the place and hence they know best...
