If you let your kids watch tv, has it been a positive influence?

My older son watched Winnie the Pooh and Blues Clues all the time when he was little and he is so polite. He is always getting complemented on how respectful and decent he is. My younger son didn't watch much of either show, and is more prone to rudeness. I think Pooh and Blue were good influences. What about your kids?

If you can monitor what they watch and choose shows that honor your values then it can be a good subtle reinforcement. I think most of the tv and movies out there are crap, though, and kids shouldn't be fed a steady diet!

I agree, my son watches Disney programs and has picked up many good things from them. He says please and thank you, and likes to say he's sorry when he thinks anyone has done something wrong. It has helped with his letters and numbers also, the programs have helped me teach him a lot faster than I could of done of my own.
