Do you remember any olympic moments?

I was a security officer in the International Broadcast Centre in Calgary in 1988. I got to meet so many wonderful people,including many atheletes throughout the Olympics. I find it hard to pick only one or two of so many of my favorites.

Probably the finale.. the last part when they sing the theme song.. lol. To be honest, I am not a sports fan and I don't watch the Olympics. But the songs are nice.. :P

It was many years ago, Canadian Nancy green won the gold in alpine/down hill skying. I was young at the time, a teenager, and I remember feeling so proud. My aunt was about to have a baby and I convinced her to call her daughter Nancy. It took a lot of convincing but she finally did.

There are a couple favorite Olympic moments for me. One that stood out in my mind, but wasn't a good one, was when Greg Louganis (spelling?), an American diver hit his head on the diving board as he was coming down into the pool. It was found out later he had HIV, and was frightened that this bloody incident woud affect the health of other divers and his trainer. Another was I believe the 1996 Olympics when Kerri Strug was doing her Olympic routine, and the American women needed her to finish her routine because they were ahead. She had hurt her ankle, and it was swollen, but she did the vault and landed on one leg. Her coach carried her around. I was so proud of all of them. Another was when American Sarah Hughes,a huge underdog for the ice skating title, won by beating the hugely popular Russian skater, whose name I cannot spell, and American favorite Michelle Kwan. No one expected that!
