Now here is the question of the decade. Do you agree with going into this war to start with? I dont think anyone agrees with it now but what about when it first started. If we didnt go into it and they cut of our gas supply and gas was $8 a gallon and sadam was the next hitler? What do you think?

I have always stood with my opinion and that is that i think that our government should follow the rule of being independent and not getting into other countries business we should NOT be in irag right now NOR SHOULD WE HAVE EVEN began to go to iraq. it was a horrible decision by our government i believe but other people may think different.

I disagree with tboner23's view on the matter. Countries have gone to war for much less than why we did. After the terrorist attack, we cannot just let other countries walk over us. If we did not try to punish the terrorists they would strike again and again. We are quite possibly the strongest country in the world and if we don't keep up that image, then we lose all respect. tboner23 says that we should have just stayed out of the war, but in reality, the war came to us. The terrorists attacked us. Another reason we are involved is that it was democracy that put Saddam into power, essentially, it was us who did it. We are not a country who leaves messes behind. We are going to stay in Iraq and fix everything there. This can also help the future because the roots of terrorism will have been destroyed. We cannot handle a new enemy to be gaining power. If you think the war is bad now, losing a few soldiers a week, think about how much worse it could have been if we left it unchecked--soldiers would be dying by the day. Some people criticize George Bush for trying to find nuclear weapons in iraq, but in reality, even a hint of a nuclear weapon should be investigated with full coverage. What if Iraq actually had WMDs and we did not bother to check. We could even have a nuclear war on our hands. So before you disrespect our president, analyze the situation hes in. I think it is clear he would rather investigate for WMDs rather than act carelessly, because if he slipped up, it would be the end of America as we know it.

what if saddam kept killing the way he did... and it turned into millions upon millions?
