How to include your discussion in todays HOT TOPIC?

I have noticed that only one of my discussion since my stay here at mylot was included in the top discussion. It was about flowers when more than 40 responses I got from others. Is this responses a basis for including your topic in today's hot topic or top discussion? what's the difference between hot topic and top discussion?

You have to write a discussion so good that everyone will respond to it. And then MyLot will put that discussion on the Hot Topic list with all the other hot topics. Good Luck and enjoy MyLot.
