Upon responding to my dear sweety Mummymo's discussion it has occurred to me that
we all if in same room would not only use different word but pronounce them
differently.
How many different accents do you hear in one day where you live?
Do you see differently then other family members?
Ok in my family although they all speak they pronounce differently
we have these accents:
north carolina
nycity
Long Island
turkish
german
french-canadian
texan
russian
In a day here I hear from5 to 15 different ways of pronouncing the same words.
Small world isn't it.We all have so many loved ones from so many different places.
It makes us all closer.

Theres only 3 islands that speaks my language, thats aruba, bonaire and curacao, but we pronounce word diffrently. But when we speak another language like english we dont know wich accent we use.But we can pronounce english words like any american or english people,if we speak fluent english you wont notice that we are from another country, you'll think that we are from the US,but not many people on our island can speak fluent english.Me myself my english is average,my spanish is much better than my english

It must be a nice experience for you. Even from where I am, people have accents. You can more or less tell from what locality they come from or from what ethnic group they belong.

I hear alot of different accents were I live. I here middle eastern, french, some spanish, german and Irish. In my family, if I was back home in Newfoundland, some would have the thick around the bay "Newfie" accent, while others have a townie accent and I have one uncle with an Irish accent. Opps almost forgot, my brother in law has an accent from Aferica. I am not sure what part though.

Well my dear I'm glad to help you out anytime I can! Where I am we don't hear that many accents, we have the occassional irish and english accents as well as some Indian and pakistani ones. The really funny thing is that people will talk about the scottish accent but there are so many accents in Scotland and some of them I don't understand!!! We can usually tell which part of the country someone is from by their accent! Sounds like you have a real multicultural family and that must be fun! xxx
