We all try to be frugal as much as we can but we still want a treat once in a while. Having a treat does not have to break our budget. With just a little planning, we can have fun treats and still be frugal. This is a recipe that will help you be frugal while letting your family have a wonderful treat. This recipe is for Butter Pecan Topping. It is is a really great topping for ice cream, yoguart, or pudding. It is even good with cereal. Kids, teens and adults love it. I often use walnuts instead of pecans. You can use whatever you enjoy. Butter Pecan Streusel Topping 1/2 cup flour 1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 3 TBSP butter, softened 1/2 cup chopped pecans Preheat oven to 350. cover a cookie sheet with foil. In a medium bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. With pastry blender or fingertips, work in butter until mixture is crumbly; stir in pecans. Spread in a thin layer on prepared cookie sheet, patting evenly. Bake about 15 minutes, or until mixture is lightly toasted; cool on cookie sheer. Store mixture in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks to 2 months. Use as a topping for yogurt, ice cream, frozen yogurt or pudding. .
