Is it better to rent or buy a place?

I rented for 8 years. Now I bought my home and wish I had done it along time ago.

It depends on your situation - financially and family-wise. But at least when you own, you are building up equity in your own property. You aren't just throwing your money away, never to be seen again - you're getting something valuable for your money.
