I love to prepare this sweet and sour chicken dish in my crockpot. You will need 1 chicken, cut up (about 3 pounds), 1/2 cup apricot or peach preserves,1/2 cup French dressing (Catalina),1 package dry onion soup mix Combine the preserves, dressing and soup mix. Place the chicken in a Crock Pot and pour mixture over. Cover and cook on low for eight to 10 hours. Great with rice or egg noodles.

here are some recipes for the crockpot that i have searched in allrecipes.com Easiest Slow Cooker French Dip SUBMITTED BY: Todi "My Family loves French Dips so I created this super simple recipe I can throw together any time. The best part is the juice is created along with the roast." INGREDIENTS * 3 pounds beef sirloin roast * 1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix * 1 cup water * 8 (1 ounce) slices provolone cheese * 8 hoagie rolls, split lengthwise DIRECTIONS 1. Place the beef roast into a slow cooker. Stir together the water and au jus mix; pour over the roast. Cover and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. 2. Remove the roast from the slow cooker and shred or slice. Open the hoagie rolls and top with beef and provolone cheese. Serve with small bowls of the hot au jus from the slow cooker. Easy Slow Cooker Ham SUBMITTED BY: REINEJESSICA "This recipe has become, hands-down, my favorite ham! This has replaced our Christmas Ham and makes the entire house smell amazing! There is nothing like coming home with this ham cooking! Experiment with the amounts of seasonings to your liking. I prefer more nutmeg but some prefer less nutmeg and more maple syrup!" INGREDIENTS * 1 (6 pound) bone-in country ham * 30 whole cloves * 3 cups apple cider, or as needed * 1 cup brown sugar * 1 cup maple syrup * 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon * 1 tablespoon ground nutmeg * 2 teaspoons ground ginger * 2 tablespoons ground cloves * 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (optional) * 1 orange's peel DIRECTIONS 1. Press whole cloves into the ham so they are evenly distributed. You may score the ham for easier insertion if you wish. Place the ham in a slow cooker. Pour in apple cider until only about 2 inches of ham is above the surface. Pack the brown sugar on top of the ham, pressing into the cloves. This will get washed away in the next step but any that stays on is a bonus. 2. Pour the maple syrup over the ham. Season the apple cider with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, ground cloves and vanilla. Add the orange peel to the pot. Fill the slow cooker as full as you can with apple cider without going over the fill line. Cover and set to Low. Cook for 8 to 10 hours. Hamburger Salad SUBMITTED BY: Mike "Beans are fortified with ground beef, bacon and onion in a zesty sauce. Great for potlucks." INGREDIENTS * 1 pound ground beef * 1 pound bacon * 1 cup chopped onion * 1/2 cup ketchup * 2 tablespoons white vinegar * 3/4 cup brown sugar * 1/2 cup white sugar * 1 teaspoon mustard powder * 1 (15 ounce) can baked beans with pork * 3 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drained DIRECTIONS 1. Fry the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, turning as needed. Remove to paper towels and drain off the grease from the skillet . Crumble the ground beef into the same skillet; cook and stir over medium heat until evenly browned. Add the onions and cook just until wilted. 2. Transfer the beef, onions and bacon to a slow cooker, crumbling the bacon as you put it in. Pour in the baked beans and pinto beans. Stir in the ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, white sugar and mustard powder. Cover and heat on Low setting for 5 to 6 hours before serving.

We make our Chili in the crockpot. Don't remember the recipe right off, but its a variation of the Wendy's Chili recipe we found online. Its so good. We add chili peppers to bump up the spicyness. Roast Potatoes and Carrots - we put the roast in the pot w/some water. If I have beef bouillon on hand I will toss 1 or 2 cubes in to add some extra flavor, let that cook for a couple hours, quarter how ever many potatoes you want, a bag of baby carrots and I take a small or medium onion and just cut it in half and throw it in. Let it cook all day and enjoy! It is so good! Pork Roast and Saurkraut - Stick a pork roast in w/a bit of water, let it cook, about and hour before we eat I toss in a bag or 2 of kraut, let that heat up and then eat. For less sour kraut, let it cook longer. I like the sourness w/the taste of the meat. Most of the time we fix mashed potatoes w/this. But if we are super busy we quarter a few potatoes and toss them in to cook too. BBQ Beef or Pork - let the beef/pork cook all day till it falls apart, drain the water off, add your choice of BBQ sauce (I am partial to Open Pit Original) let it heat and soak, grab some buns and devour! Soup Beans - buy a bag of mixed beans, soak them over night, toss into the crock pot w/water, cook until done, add some diced tomatoes, ham seasoning, salt pepper, and whatever other other seasonings you like, let it cook for a while, make some cornbread and you are good to go. This is so good. Usually when we fix these we have my family or his family over for dinner and there is never any left! We used ours A LOT as you can tell! Its great when you are busy cause you can just throw in the ingrediants and go!

It's great to come home to a crock pot dinner whether you're working or just out having fun. It takes only a couple of minutes to throw something together fast, and let the crock pot do its work. One of my favorites is to brown some beef short ribs in the oven and drain off the fat, then put them in the crock pot with your favorite sauce (barbeque, gravy, or whatever). They come out so tender. Sometimes I add some chopped onions too. It smells great cooking
