What do you think the OTHERS want?

I think they are a group of religious zealots headed by Ben. Kind of like a cult. Have you ever seen the movie "The Village" I think it's along those lines. They found this island which has "supernatural" powers, and decided to make a new, safe home for themselves away from civilization. They do have to recruit from elsewhere, such as bringing Juliet there. There may be some tie as to why the plane crashed there as well. We know from the other night, they were there before the Dharma Initiative.

i think there is some kind of healing thing on the island, that is why the others are there. sounds good. in the beginning when the plane crashed the one guy couldn't walk and now he can. but that doesn't make sense either, because the other guy had to have his back operated on. don't know.

The main Others are probably descended from pirates who shipwrecked there in the 17th Century and Communists who were using the Island as an American Village (they are near Australia and can infiltrate the country) That is why the Dharma Scientists referred them as hostiles because at that time, Communism was still a threat. I had another theory that since Lost is on ABC and there was another show on ABC called Prey, that they were some of those people. However, it might be there are a few, but not all of them.

I know how you feel, the whole good person vs. bad person thing is beginning to drive me crazy. I would like to find out a little bit about their intentions.
