Should Marijuana Be Decriminalized

I've often wondered why Marijuana is REALLY illegal. It's less harmful than tobacco and alcohol, by a longshot. Countless people die every year from the over in gestation of booze. None from pot. So, if it isn't a public health issue, why is pot illegal? Well, if you research the issue, it's really illegal because people 70 some odd years ago were afraid of black people and Mexicans. Sad but true. To me, pot should be decriminalized and regulated. Tax it at a percentage equal or greater to tobacco and everyone should be happy.
