who do you think is the stig

The Stig's identity has been confirmed as Ben Collins (link is http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/4286448/who-is-the-stig-the-answer.html) The first (black) Stig was Perry Mcarthy.

I think they use various drivers for the Stig.. I believe Ben Collins has been one,, but there have surely been others since McCarthy. The luxury they they have as producers is that having a 'secret identity' means they can use any 'tame racing driver' available each week to do their professional driving. Europe and the UK have no shortage of skilled drivers and I am sure the BBC is happy to employ whomever the need on a short term basis. maybe even current or recent past F1 or WRC drivers.... hmmmm some say only cats can hear his voice... do you think that is true! LOL

The first Stig (the one who wore all black!) was none other than Perry Mcarthy who was a Formula 1 test driver ! But the current Stig's identitiy is still a bit of a mystery .. Nigel Mansells lap in the 'reasonably priced car' was suspiciously similar to the Stigs corner lines and handling .. but I feel that Nigel Mansell was far too big to have even been the Stig (unless he was the American Stig who was .. well rather rotund!) .. Quite a few whispers have been made that it was Michael Schumacher .. but I wouldn't have thought the BBC could have aforded to hire him heheh !!! The top three drivers who may be the Stig are Russ Swift, stunt driver par excellence who's a 2/1 shot with the bookies .. Damon Hill 4/1 and Ben Collins 8/1 a not much heard of British driver .. Ot of course it could be more than one driver !
