Chicago!

I'm starting to love Chicago now. Really. Not because I landed my butt here but it really is a nice place. Aside from the brutal winter, the weather here feels so "American". You'll witness the beauty of all four seasons as they pass. Speaking of weather, it's getting pretty warm here. Yeheeeyyy.. We're in the 40s now and rising! People are starting to come out from hibernation and the streets are getting crowded. After the exam I took in the afternoon, I strolled down Michigan Avenue to loosen up a bit. The exam made me feel groggy and dizzy. The street were full of people from all walks of life. The shops and boutiques are letting go of their old merchandise hence, almost everyone walking around brought a bag or two except for me. I'm still too broke to afford even a train ticket. Loser!Downtown Chicago is one of the best places I've been to. Aside from the soaring buildings, structures are adorned with all the architectural features and details that give them their beauty. It is pretty obvious that Chicagoans are lovers of the art. New York has soaring buildings but they look too commercialized. The view was the exact opposite the last time I went downtown. It was still below zero back then. Today, I forgot to bring a camera.. Tsktsktsk.. Oh well, there's still time. Spring is just starting. That's all I can think of now. My puny brain needs some rest.

Not from Chicago, but had a close efriend that lived out near ohare, but worked in the downtown core. He sent me some great pics and a map of your subway system...Your city sounds like a great one...its fun (and cheap) to be a tourist in your own town... I live near toronto, ontario canada and love to visit that city as often as i can (love china town!!!) and now that spring is just around the corner...all the better!!!

Yeah.. It's great here especially that it's already spring time. Everywhere is accessible through buses and trains so that makes Chicago a lot better. We might go to Canada any time this summer.. :D

I am so glad to hear you discovered my favorite city! I live an hour north of Chicago, and it is the best metropolitan area I've been to. Go to the corner of Ohio and Wabash to Pizzeria Dues, it'll be so well worth it! How long have you been in Chicago? 4th of July on Navy Pier is the best, we spend every 4th of July weekend downtown because it's my birthday, and I've never had a bad time. Just wait linus, the best will be yet to come when the weather breaks.

That's great! I'm glad to meet a new friend online. Hehehe.. Which part on the north side do you live? I'm going to try heading towards the Navy Pier some time. Invite me on your birthday, will you? Just kidding... I'm still trying to navigate the streets. I've been here for about a month so that makes me a Chicago virgin. Haha... That's what they say, there will be more fun in the coming months. I can't wait!

I live in Rockford, close enough to the city (90 miles), far enough away to not be a suburb. LOL I'm kinda jealous of you right now because you LIVE there! Navy Pier is the best, I could just sit by the lake and people watch for hours. I wish I could be of more help to you on things to do, but when you tun 21 you have to go to Excalibur! It's a little pricey, but you never know what celebs you'll see there.

That's not so far, eh.. Although I haven't been there yet. hehehe... Sadly, I can't really explore the whole place since I'm still unemployed. No funds. Booohooo.. Well, if you have any job for me then.. ;) What's in Excalibur? Is it a club of some sort?
