I just recently signed up and joined ebay. It took me a while, for one, i am soo uneasy about giving my information to online sites. All you hear about is how people loose theirmoney or got hacked... But anyways, i fought the goose and signed up. And i must say, i am amaze about how much junk is on ebay. I dont mean like trash junk, i mean everything you can think of is being sold over ebay. Its like a hudge flea market. I am so amazed. Has anyone ever put their item up and sold it on ebay? What are your experiences on ebay? Is there an easy way to go about it? I also heard that they charge you to sell stuff over ebay, i guess someone has to make a living from ebay right? Ebay makes me feel so uneasy, i would like to sell some of my junk, but dont know how to go about it. Tips and hints would be nice :)

I have been a member of eBay for three yeqars now both as a buyer and a seller. I have bought some lovely peices for collections and sold loads of the junk that was in the hosue. You can bag some bargains and enjoy the auctions. I would recommend you go to eBay's home page and read up on the tips for buying and selling, it is a mine of useful imnformation

I've bought and sold on eBay. I think I've sold about 18 items, probably bought 5 in total. I've never had any problems selling, have always been paid, had nothing but positive comments from my buyers. One time when I bought I didn't read the fine print and bought what I thought was a regular size book, but when it came in the mail it was 2"X3"!! It was a miniture and I had actually paid more for it than it was worth! That was my mistake though. When I looked at the description again, it was marked correctly. Now I'm just super careful when I'm bidding! lol There's a post with some great eBay tips here: http://mommyspace.blogspot.com/ Some are pretty good!

It's not too bad for buying just make sure they've got really great feedback. I usually won't buy if they've got less than 99% unless it's something that I really want at a great price - but then if it's still in the upper 90's and I actually look at the feedback to see what the problems were. Selling... yeah they charge to put up the auction and then when you sell it they make a commision off it too. So when you sell something keep that in mind. I usually only accept paypal. It's easier and a lot less of a hassell that way. Plus if they want to use a check they still can through paypal. Just wait until it clears to mail it out. I had a store up once like a year ago. But business became slow and I cancelled it. Email me if you need any other tips or if you have any questions. :)

Ebay isn't that bad Kiwi, I know a bunch of people that use it and it only costs a like 38 cents per Item I think. Somewhere around in there anyway. The only bad thing is the shipping you gotta make sure when you set the shipping charge on there that you know that will actually cover what it costs to send the item. That is where you need a postal scale. But it's all good, that or you could just go by the post office and have them check out how much it would cost.

I have bought several things on eBay, and sold a few, too. I use paypal to pay and recieve payment, and I haven't had any problems. You want to buy from sellers who have a good reputation and do things like pay on time and leave feed back in order to get a good reputation yourself. I would recommend buying something from ebay so you know what the experience is like before you go about selling. Research your items before you set up the auction to know what they are worth. Good Luck.

I don't agree that Ebay is that bad or junk yard. I think sometimes it is not junk for someone what we consider crapy. And it is good way to find something what we don't have in our country. Like I miss things from USA I use to use when I lived there - i can get them on Ebay. My favorite thing I bought on Ebay is - wristwatch. I found one like I wanted.

Yes people do get hacked but they do that on just about any site. ebay is the best out there though I think. yes, ebay is the world wide garge sale. I heard rumors of someone selling everything in their house when they moved, they even sold half full boxes of ceral and tubes of toothpaste. As for as selling your own stuff just use good key words. That way when people look up your items they will find them fast. Yes, ebay does charge to put stuff on and charges again when/if your item sells. The fees are all on the site. Also get good pictures of the stuff and describe it very good and in detail. That way people will know what they are buying. Good luck.
