Babysitting Club? Do you have one?

A Babysitter Club - Do you have a babysitter club

I have recently come across the idea of a Babysitting Club where a few couples "join" and they each take a turn watching all of the kids. So, if you have 3 couples, then you have a free babysitter for 2 weeks and then you are the babysitter for all the kids. This would be a great way to save money. Do you have anything like this with your friends? Have you thought about getting one started? I think it's a wonderful idea for those of us who like to go out even for dinner and a movie every once in a while but can't afford or trust a sitter.

I love the idea ... yet I have to find moms I could do it with ... I 'm new in my neighborhood so I don't know many people ... I 've spoken a few times with my neighbors but their kids are either young adults now or have moved out ... How did you find the moms to start the club with ? because I agree with you it si ahrd nowadays to find people you can trust your kids with Thanks for the idea though

unfortunatly I am in the same boat as you are. I just came across the idea on the net and never had the pleasure of doing this. However, when we get moved to Florida I hope to find some people to befriend and maybe start it up. Have you tried a local mommy group or play group? You might join and then if you get close to a couple of people, you could bring the idea up.

I think that is a great idea. At least you would know the people who were caring for your children. It is scary to leave kids with people in todays society. When our kids were small, I never left them anywhere. I took care them all the time. I never hired a babysitter in my life.

I agree. My kids are just 5 and 3, but they have only stayed with my niece ONE time and never with a stranger. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I was hospitalized a couple of times and had to leave my son with my sisters and parents while I was in the hospital and my hubby worked. That was the most my kids have been left with anyone. Since my daughter was born, she has been left ONE time and that was the time she and my son stayed with my 15 yr old niece for 3 hours while I went and played bingo. LOL
