If you can have the money to buy a house would you trade your diamond for a CZ ring. Or is a diamond a good investment in the future?

It would want to be a pretty big diamond to buy a house in my country. However, if I didn't have a house and I had a big enough diamond, then yes, I would trade it for a cz ring. It is quite hard for an ordinary person to tell the difference.

I would never exchange my diamonds for anything. Mine have been given to me with love by my husband. They mean so much to me.

I don't know that diamonds are a good investment, but they are a status symbol and usually have sentimental value. If I had the choice of putting a roof over my head and having a cheap ring or being homeless, I would prefer the house, but I don't think it would work that way. The DeBiers (spelling?) have done a good marketing job and are quite efficient at controlling the world's diamond supply. "Diamonds are Forever" No one wants to give them up unless they have to.

Something tells me that if I had a diamond big enough that it was worth a HOUSE... I wouldn't need to trade it in. I'd either be rich, or have a rich family and wouldn't have to worry about it. I have 2 diamonds that are just under a carat. They are both family heirlooms and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I would trade in a heartbeat. Let's think about this. You need shelter, thus you are going to usually have a rent or house payment. You do not need a ring. So take the house in exchange for the ring. Then save up the money you would have put towards the house or rent payment and once you have enough, buy the ring you want.
