In May 1788, William Wilberforce with the help of researcher Thomas Clarkson, introduced the 12-point motion to the English Parliament indicting the slave trade in that era. The motion was defeated. Yet Wilberforce refused to give up, introducing another anti-slave trade bill in 1791, which was also defeated. Another defeat followed in 1792. Another in 1793. Others still 1797, 1798, 1799. And in 1804 and 1805. In 1806 the Parliament abolished the slave trade throughout the British empire. And three days before Wilberforce died in the summer of 1833, the Parliament finally passed the Emancipation Act, issuing the freeing of all slaves. (-Today's Christian) Not everyone is as lucky as Wilberforce was, to see the fruit of his patient labor while he was still alive. But without patience it is impossible to live in this world which will not get any better but worse. Where do you draw your patience from to endure whatever trials you're going through right now? Ioan Gruffudd as William Wilberforce - At the film Amazing Grace Ioan Gruffudd as William Wilberforce .The film is about the life of William Wilberforce .
I know very well how important is to have patient.I live the power of patience many years ago an for long time at the end I saw _my fruit of patient labor-as you say but believe it was very hard and many times I thought I'll not gonna find the power of patient to cross the ugly conditions That I lived then With a lot of pray here I'm now, leaving ever thing bad behind me.....But if I'll need face again same difficulties I'm not sure if I can have same patient again.I just hope I'll not need to figure out. Enough for me...if you don't now yet the good news are the William Wilberforce life be a movie with the actor Ioan Gruffudd. The film called Amazing Grace from the song( hymns)of John Newton (I'm sure you know it) Amazing Grace Amazing Grace (How sweet the sound) That sav'd a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears reliev'd;How precious did that grace appear, The hour I first believ'd!Thro' many dangers, toils and snare, I have already come;'Tis grace has brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me. His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures. Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease;I shall profess, within the vail, A life of joy and peace. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, who call'd me here below, Will be for ever mine.

By the way, it is really nice of you to write down that song. It is truly an amazing song, about a life bought by a Saviour to set a soul free. I am listening to that song right now...=)

i am speechless, it was a wonderful read. indeed william wilberforce had been lucky to see the implementation of what he actually fought for. the nobel cause with a nobel ending, what else could be more desiring and elevating. here is something for you: 1. Impatience is when God’s timing doesn’t match mine. 2. Teach your impatience a lesson: stay behind a slow car. 3. I have a lot of patience with people who have the same weakness as me. 4. Your impatience is not my obligation. 5. Impatience is the invitation to error. 6. Children will temper your patience. 7. Impatience robs us of our promise. 8. Your impatience is not someone else’s fault. 9. Impatience is diffused by acceptance. 10. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Without patience it’s impossible to have faith. Without trials, it’s impossible to have patience. 11. Patience pays off. 12. We carry patience in our pockets; we pull it out when we need it. The size of those pockets is formed through endurance. 13. Patience is allowing what we don’t want, to lose its power over us. 14. The difference between you and the person you don’t like, is impatience. 15. Think of God’s patience. He puts up with all of us at the same time. RF: DUKE

Thank you Mimpi for your nice response. Patience indeed a true virtue and impatience is only the absence of patience. To me patience is not derived from myself, the so called inner beauty in me. It instead comes truly alone from God, and being exercised in my life through the faith given to me. It all starts with the given faith and without faith it is impossible to have patience...=) Thank you for the quotes and by the way, what do you refer to as RF: Duke?
