New zealand is back in the rag trade

I have just come back into the sewing trade after about 10 years away from it. 10 years ago or there abouts, the manufacturing of clothing in New Zealand was quite a busy industry. But s more and more company's began to have their garment made in places like china the rag trade here in New Zealand found it very hard to compete, and this over time forced many company to close or go up market. sad as it may seem most company's closed. What I am seeing now here is many young ones coming through wanting to be part of the trade, this is great! and lots of young designers that never experienced what we did 10 years ago. These young people now know they have to up market, neech market, and create garment of extra high quality. Good to see that New Zealand is back in the Rag Trade
