I read an article in a newspaper recently which claimed that a survey conducted on European hotel's revealed that German's were the best tourists, it claim ed they were polite, left good tips for staff and left their room tidy. What do you think?

I would agree. Germans are the best tourists of all. For a start they go to almost every country in the world. Sometimes I don't see many English people like myself but I usually see a few Germans at the very least. They are just so polite. Every hotel must hope to have lots of Germans staying there. A couple of years agao I went to the Maldives and saw many Germans there. My flight was due out at 11 am and there were three gates for five flights. The flight to Germany went first. Germans are the best tourists so they deserved this.

Sorry to come so late to this thread. And I think you could be right. I go to Germany a lot (one of my closest friends is from Germany), and I always find the people there to be polite, well-mannered and respectful. It is one of the few places I have eery travelled in, where men routinely ask if you need help with your luggage at stations/airports etc, and are always very chivalrous. The whole country is always very clean too, and everyone speaks excellent English.

From my experience with tourists (I live in a tourist town) Germans are always a favourite. They are always happy and cheerful and honestly happy to be there. They are always very clean, very polite people and always try their best to help out other people, even if they don't know the answer themselves.
