Sorry you have the wrong information Canada did at one time have free health care, but as with the spiraling costs that is now a thing of the past, there are provinces that have health care where your premium is charged on you last year income, So in my case I would only have to pay the minimum which is $10 per month, this varies from province to province, as well as the coverage you get, in some provinces the prescription charges are covered after you have spent say $1000 and then you might have to pay only 20% of the cost, But back to your original question Nope sorry no free health care.

I wouldn't say it's free free. If you work or your spouse work, the health insurance is deducted from paycheck, which depends on your hourly rate or salary per month let's say if you earn $ 3000/ month then you might have to pay about $ 30/ month if you smoke, if not it will be even lower. Then if you're sick you don't pay doctor's fee but you still have to pay $ 2 for prescription. Some banks offer insurance too, mine is for hospital stay and medication whenever required such as accident, pregnancy etc. Again if you smoke it's higher than non smoker, it's like $ 10/month because I am non smoker.

Yes I live in Nova Scotia Canada and doctor visits, er visits, hopital stays, ultrasounds and other special procedures and operations are all free. I am very glad of this for i do not know how i would be able to do it if very didnt have our medicare system. That is a costly thing to consider if one was to choose to live outside of Canada. I dont know how people who live outside of Canada can do it especially common folk like me living on a low income it must be hard for them.
