This afternoon, I took my kids for dinner at a fast food restaurant. We were sitting there, eating our order when it suddenly struck me - I was really enjoying their company. After a long while, I could smile at their antics. The reason I'm sharing this is I've just realized i've been bogged down so much by the day to day chores and the stress that comes with everyday living that i almost forgot how to have a good time with my family. Watching them play, having a good give and take conversation with them - it was a Good Day. It gave me a nice breather... I'm on my own raising my 5 kids so it can be a lot to handle at times but i feel truly thankful to know that i'm still human, not a robot, that the kids and i have these beautiful memories together... I sure would appreciate any thoughts you might share too, things that made you smile etc.=)

It's sure nice to take the kids out once in a while and get waited on and kids are sure cute when they've got ketchup on their hands, and their faces are smeared with ice cream.

Isn't it a great feeling to realize how wonderful and precious the time is with your children. I have 4 children (ages 6-18) and believe me, I wish I could have had more mom time with my 18 yr old. I can undrestand how you can get bogged down with day to day junk, especially raising the kids on your own. When you get a few minutes, remember the feeling you had during that dinner and take time to make more great memories with your family. The memories aren't only yours, they are your kids too.

You're right - its memories for my kids too. I know exactly what you mean when you say more mom time. Kids mature so fast these days. Sitting here infront of the computer, it just struck me how easy it is to take people for granted, especially the little people. Hmmm, i think i'll go and make more great memories with them =) Hope more mom time will come up with your 18 yr old too. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

My favorite moment with my son is when he tells me "mama hold on!" when he wants to be held or I am holding him. My most favorite moment is when he holds out his hand for me to dance with him. I know it may stop one day, so anytime he holds out his hand, I give him my hand and we dance together. He will be 3 this week.

First, God Bless raising 5 kids! I have one child right now who is turning three and I know exactly what you mean about enjoying their company. I spend everyday with my son and I love it although I know not everyone can do it.
My favorite time with my son is when he tells me "Mama hold on!" when he needs to be held or I am holding him. My other favorite is when he holds out his hand to me to dance. I know that it may not last forever, so when he takes my hand to dance I give him my hand everytime.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to respond to my discussion. What you've shared is so sweet and beautiful. I know what you mean when you said it may not last forever but good things something more wonderful takes it place. Btw, the double post is ok.
