Does it increase your earnings if more people answer to your discussion?

This is the one thing I dont understand. Is it like that, that what more people answer you, the more you will get paid? So if noone answers to your discussion, then its also worth nothing? Could you please help me,

Its like u start a discussion u get paid ...also if u respond to any discussion...but u r not paid for the number of responses that u receive for ur discussion ...people who respond get paid...get the point..!!
