In a world that is trying hard to be healthier, there are many pet owners who are including their furry friends in the quest for an optimal lifestyle. Because of this, organic pet food sales are booming. Many pet owners are excited to offer their dogs and cats a quality pet food that is free from preservatives, antibiotics, pesticides, and hormones. Many pet owners feeding organic pet foods are skeptical about the contents of everyday dog and cat foods. Some pet foods have labels such as "meat byproducts" and "meat meal", which leave too much to the imagination. These vague ingredient listings can be used to describe parts of the animal that are left after the meat has been harvested for human consumption. These parts may include heads, bones, feet, kidneys, brain, intestines, etc.
Should your pet be going organic?
Are you willing to pay more for organic pet food?

Yes if I could be sure they did not sneak unhealthy ingredients into it as the other big name respected companies have done.

I don't know which companies you can trust and which ones you can't, seem there is just too much sneaking of harmful ingredients these days.

I have tried some of those organic pet foods and all it did was make my cats sick, no matter which way I tried to give it to them. So I'll be sticking with their original pet food. The vet just gave them all a clean bill of health, so I don't think my animals are in any danger from their own perferred brand of pet food.

Same here, the vet said they are fine and they should just continue with their food they are eating.

Good topic. I do not spend extra money on dog food. My dogs were rescued and were living out of garbage cans anyway, so that is how I rationalize not giving them the most expensive stuff. But I do get name brands (Purina, etc)with coupons. The really cheap stuff supposedly has cardboard in it as a filler so I'm not that cheap. LOL!!
Also, my butcher saves me scraps of meat I cook every now and then for the dogs.

I would probably spend the extra money as I have wasted a ton of it...lol My dogs won't eat any of the organic foods I have tried.. We feed Purina One..they like it and it seems to keep them healthy enough. The vet said it's fine. I give them chicken jerky as treats..they love it. What a great buther you have..I bet the dogs like that.
